About the logo

This logo was designed to convey a feeling of growth through the natural environment.

The tree is used to symbolize growth and learning. The colors used are earth-tone. The center shape is an abstract representation of a tree with two branches reaching out to the right and left to create colored quadrants. The upper left quadrant is orange to represent the sun and energy. Left of it, is blue, which represents the sky. The two lower quadrants are green and blue to represent land and water.

The tree grows (learns) when provided land, water, air, and energy. The tree represents the community members, students, and participants in the Finger Lakes Learning program who grow through exposure to the knowledge of their environment. Logo designed by Kevin Hurley.
